Breakfast Day 1
So, being an active single mom and going to college 15 years in school (graduated 2 years ago)...I've decided to settle down my "normal mommy ways". Puzzled? You should be, I'm not the traditional single parent...nor were my parenting ways. I had lots of help from my parents on how to raise my daughter, all in a good way. My sibilings helped me raise her too. Since I was raised up with 4 sisters and 1 brother and being stuck in the middle, I was often left to make your own lunch, fix your own breakfast...well I thought that was "normal," but not in fifth grade...so I decided to start making a warm sit down breakfast every morning for me and my daughter. Mind you, I'm not much of a cook, but I used to be back in high school. Anyways, my sister Kim had once tried to convince me to start a blog and I thought, ohhh no I'm too old for that. I don't even own a cell phone, because I choose not to! Well, Tues. Feb. 16th I woke up at 645am and hit the snooze button, so much for a first day start off to a warm breakfast...well...my lovely daughter knows I'm starting this "warm breakfast" routine and yells at me, "Are you getting up, I thought you were going to make me breakfast?!" Well, rude awakening, I just wanted to sleep in 10 more minutes. I drag myself out of bed and head right to the kitchen. See, on a normal night, I prepare the dogs food so they can eat too. I open the freezer and scan my freshly stacked items from the grocery shopping the night before. I grab the mmmmm mmmm good premade hash browns, like you get from McDonald's. I pop those in the oven and start on the eggs, pour the nonfresh orange juice and set the table. Breakfast was a success! Off to school and off to work with bellies full and one ready to learn, the other ready to work :)
